Future Tech Talent
Future Tech Talent explores how the first AI-native generation is preparing for a world moving faster than traditional education and career pathways were designed for
Future Tech Talent brings together the next generation of founders, innovators and future leaders to explore how young people are shaping and challenging the future of technology.
The afternoon is structured in two parts.
The first will see finalist teams from six West Midlands universities: Aston University, Birmingham City University, Coventry University, University of Birmingham, University of Warwick and University of Wolverhampton pitch their business ideas as part of the Future Tech Talent Competition.
Sponsored by Virtual Decisions, the competition showcases emerging entrepreneurial talent from across the region, with finalists competing for a £1,000 prize and the opportunity to win the Future Tech Business of the Year Award at Birmingham Tech Week.
The second half of the programme will feature the Future Tech Talent Debate, where young people will take to the stage to discuss some of the biggest technology controversies and challenges of the past year; from AI and digital identity to online safety, ethics, creativity and the future impact of emerging technologies on society.
Designed to amplify young voices rather than simply talk about them, Future Tech Talent creates a platform for the next generation to challenge assumptions, share ideas and shape the future technology conversation.
